Production Management, Scheduling and Logistics

High quality papers with a special focus in Production  Management, Scheduling and/or Logistics are very welcome.  Research may include deterministic or stochastic, robust and multi-objective or game-theoretic approaches, heuristics or exact methods or approximations in the variety of the aforementioned areas. We are especially interested in models and methods resulting from real applications, e.g. from manufacturing, project scheduling, health care, transport and routing or personnel planning, as well as in more theoretical papers solving a long-standing research question.

Professor Luis M. C. Dias -University of Coimbra, 3004-512 Coimbra, Portugal

Decision Analysis and Preference Modeling

We seek to publish high quality papers developing and using decision analysis and analytics methods for improved managerial decision-making practices. This area includes, but is not limited to, multicriteria decision analysis, project portfolio decision analysis, multiobjective programming, and the analytics of preference learning. We particularly welcome papers dealing with multiple criteria encompassing economic, environmental, and social dimensions in decision making processes towards a more sustainable future. We are also interested in papers bridging decision analysis with computer science and other disciplines. Suitable papers should be relevant to a wide audience and make either (1) a theoretical/methodological contribution with a clear applicability to managerial decision-making, or (2) an empirical/practical contribution demonstrating significant impact for end-users or providing insights on the best ways of using decision analytics tools and interacting with decision makers. All published papers must meet a high standard of rigor and validity, and the research findings should provide new insights and implications to the practice of management science.

Supply Chain Management

We  invite submissions related to the development and use of methodological and analytical models applied to highly relevant business problems in the general areas of Supply Chain Management.  Of particular interest are papers that present effective and contemporary modeling and solution approaches for data-, insight-, problem-driven supply chain operations modeling, as well as those papers that contain breakthroughs on solving established operations problems, specifically, in practical application domains in the public and private sectors for the design, procurement, production, delivery of goods or services. Submitted manuscripts should combine the high standards of a traditional academic approach with the practical value of industrial applications.

Data-Driven Analytics

We seek to publish high quality papers in the area of data-driven analytics, using a variety of methodological and applied data analytics for improved operations.  These approaches include, but are not limited to, data analytics tools for handling data (such as big data, and real data pertaining to e-commerce, digitalization, and technology application), data envelopment analysis, machine learning and intelligent management. We welcome business analytics studies where theoretical foundation development and innovative methodological approaches are presented for novel insights and valuable implications to the practice of management science.  We invite submissions that make either (1) theoretical/methodological contribution that advances the methodologies by aiding in the modeling and addressing business challenges of specific strategic or operational issues, or (2) empirical/practical contribution that demonstrate significant impacts on operational practice and business intelligence.
